Curricular requirements

To enrol in this programme, you must meet the following requirements:

• Bachelor's degree
  • If you have a foreign degree, consult the information dedicated to International Students to verify the validity of your qualification and the specific admission requirements
• At least 30 CFU earned in one or more of the following Academic Disciplines (SSD):
  • Mathematics (MAT/*)
  • Computer Science (INF/01)
  • Information Engineering (ING-INF/*)
  • Physics (FIS/*)
  • Statistics and mathematical methods for decisions (SECS-S/*)
  • Quantitative economics and finance (SECS-P/01, SECS-P/05)
  • Molecular biology and genetics (BIO/10, BIO/11, BIO/18)

At least 9 CFU must have been obtained in mathematics (MAT/*, SECS-S/06).

Language preparation

You must prove proficiency in English at a minimum B2 level.

If you have yet to obtain the required qualification

If you have not yet obtained the entry qualification, check whether the selection procedure allows you to participate in the admissions process.

 

There are two time slots for the assessment of your admission requirements and subsequent enrolment. The deadlines vary according to the date you obtained (or will obtain) your bachelor’s degree (or equivalent).
You can submit the enrolment application only after completing the requirement verification process and receiving a confirmation email.

Enrolment Deadlines for A.Y. 2025/2026

• Round 1 – For graduates by 14 November 2025:
  • Submission of evaluation request: from 9 June to 14 November 2025 (non-negotiable deadline)
  • Enrolment*: by 19 December 2025
• Round 2 – Only for graduates between 15 November 2025 and 27 March 2026:
  • Submission of evaluation request: from 7 January to 27 February 2026 (non-negotiable deadline)
  • Enrolment: by 30 March 2026

*If you miss the first enrolment deadline of 19 December 2025, you may still enrol by 30 March 2025. However, a late enrolment fee will apply as outlined in the Fees Notice.

Procedure

1. Register for the assessment:
   Access the Online Student Service (Esse3) and follow this path: Menu > Home > Admission Test (programmed access and master’s degrees)
   • Select the Test (Competition) for this programme and upload the following completed documents in the Attachments section:
     • A valid ID document (front and back)
     • A self-declaration of your qualification, including completed exams (not a certificate)
     • The self-assessment questionnaire in Excel format, available at the bottom of this page
        
2. Verification of Preparation: follow the methods described in the dedicated section
    
3. Wait for the verification result: you will receive the result by email. If you are admitted, proceed as outlined in the Online Procedure (Esse3) section.

Enrolment

Within deadlines

Access the Online Student Service (Esse3)

1. Start the procedure for enrolment applications
   Menu > Home > Enrolment
    
2. Complete the required fields and upload the necessary documents:
   • Valid identity document in PDF format (front and back)
     If you log in using SPID, this will not be required
   • Supplementary enrolment form (at the bottom of this page)
   • Passport-sized photo in JPEG format, NO SELFIES (refer to the requirements)
   • Residence permit or proof of application (for non-EU citizens only)
      
3. Pay the first instalment of university fees. This confirms your pre-enrolment.
   Within 2 working days of payment, the university's digital services will be activated, limited to Microsoft Teams, to enable access to lectures.
    
4. Wait for the confirmation email
   Within a few days, you will receive an email confirming your enrolment. Your student number will then be visible in your Reserved Area on Esse3.
   Within two working days of receiving confirmation of your enrolment, you will have full access to the University's digital services (including your institutional email account and the MyUniTS app).

If you have yet to obtain the required qualification

If you have not yet obtained the qualification required for admission:

1. start anyway the Enrolment Process
2. submit additional documentation: include a self-declaration listing completed and pending exams and your curriculum studiorum, if applicable.
3. pay the first instalment of tuition fees:

This will allow you to attend lectures and access Digital Teaching resources. Upon obtaining your degree, you must re-enter the online procedure, enter the missing details and promptly inform the relevant section of the Admissions Office via email.

Your enrolment will be finalised, and you will receive your matriculation number only after providing all required documentation.
