Non-competitive admission with initial proficiency assessment before enrolment

The course has open admission; to enroll, you must meet the following requirements:
Degree: A Bachelor’s degree or a three-year University Diploma, or an equivalent qualification obtained abroad.
Degree obtained abroad:
If you hold a foreign degree, refer to the information for International Students to verify the validity of your qualification and the specific admission requirements.
Students eligible for admission to the Master’s Degree program must meet the following curricular requirements:
- A minimum Bachelor’s degree grade of 90/110.
- A Bachelor’s degree obtained in one of the following classes:
- Statistics (L-41)
- Degree in the corresponding class under D.M. 509/99 (No. 37)
- Four-year degree from the previous system (pre-D.M. 509/99), as specified in the Course Regulations
Alternatively, candidates with a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in other fields may be eligible if they meet the following criteria:
- Minimum grade requirement: 90/110
- At least 60 CFU credits in the following subject areas:
- Mathematics and Statistics: At least 33 CFU credits in Mathematics, Applied Mathematics, and Probability (fields: MAT/01, MAT/02, MAT/03, MAT/05, MAT/06, MAT/09, SECS-S/06) and Statistics (fields: SECS-S/01 to SECS-S/05, SECS-P/05)
- Economics, Law, and Computer Science: At least 15 CFU credits in:
- Economics, Business Economics, and Industrial Engineering Management (fields: SECS-P/01 to SECS-P/11, ING-IND/35)
- Law (fields: IUS/01, IUS/04, IUS/05, IUS/07, IUS/09, IUS/10, IUS/12, IUS/13, IUS/14)
- Computer Science (fields: INF/01, ING-INF/05)
English language proficiency:
You must demonstrate written and oral proficiency in English at B2 level of the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR), as part of the assessment of your personal preparation.
The list of recognized certifications and the methods to fulfill the language requirement are provided in the Course Regulations. If you do not meet the language requirement at the time of enrollment, you will still be allowed to enroll, but you must obtain the certification during the first year of study, by the deadline specified in the enrollment procedures.
Foreign qualifications:
Students holding a foreign degree deemed eligible will be admitted to the Master’s Degree program after the conversion of their credits or qualifications into equivalent CFU credits assigned to corresponding subject areas (SSD), provided they meet the credit requirements outlined above.

If you have not yet obtained the qualification required for admission:
- start anyway the Enrolment Process
- submit additional documentation: include a self-declaration listing completed and pending exams and your curriculum studiorum, if applicable.
- pay the first instalment of tuition fees:
This will allow you to attend lectures and access Digital Teaching resources. Upon obtaining your degree, you must re-enter the online procedure, enter the missing details and promptly inform the relevant section of the Admissions Office via email.
Your enrolment will be finalised, and you will receive your matriculation number only after providing all required documentation.
There are 2 admission requirement verification and subsequent enrolment windows, depending on the date the degree granting access to the course is obtained.
You can submit the enrolment application only after completing the requirement verification process and receiving a confirmation email.
Enrolment Deadlines for A.Y. 2024/2025
- 1st window – For graduates by 15 November 2024:
- Submission of evaluation request: from 3 June to 15 November 2024
- Enrolment: by 20 December 2024
- 2nd window – For graduates between 16 November 2024 and 28 March 2025:
- Submission of evaluation request: from 7 January to 14 February 2025
- Enrolment: by 31 March 2025
If you miss the first enrolment deadline of 20 December 2024, you may still enrol by 31 March 2025. However, a late enrolment fee will apply as outlined in the Fees Notice.
Assessment
If any conditions are not met, an assessment of the minimum curricular requirements and adequate personal preparation will be carried out by a special Committee chaired by the Program Coordinator and appointed in accordance with the Course Regulations. Following this assessment, which involves an evaluation of your academic curriculum and achievements based on objective criteria (as indicated in the Course Regulations), the Committee may require you to obtain additional ECTS credits in specific subject areas before enrollment.
Procedure
- Register for the assessment:
Access the Online Student Service (Esse3) and follow this path: Menu > Home > Admission Test (programmed access and master’s degrees)- Select the Test (Competition) for this programme and upload the following completed documents in the Attachments section:
- A valid ID document (front and back)
- A self-declaration of your qualification, including completed exams (not a certificate)
- The self-assessment questionnaire in Excel format, available at the bottom of this page
- Select the Test (Competition) for this programme and upload the following completed documents in the Attachments section:
- Verification of Preparation: follow the methods described in the dedicated section
- Wait for the verification result: you will receive the result by email. If you are admitted, proceed as outlined in the Online Procedure (Esse3) section.

Within deadlines
Access the Online Student Service (Esse3)
- Start the procedure for enrolment applications
Menu > Home > Enrolment
- Complete the required fields and upload the necessary documents:
- Valid identity document in PDF format (front and back)
If you log in using SPID, this will not be required - Supplementary enrolment form (at the bottom of this page)
- Passport-sized photo in JPEG format, NO SELFIES (refer to the requirements)
- Residence permit or proof of application (for non-EU citizens only)
- Valid identity document in PDF format (front and back)
- Pay the first instalment of university fees. This confirms your pre-enrolment.
Within 2 working days of payment, the university's digital services will be activated, limited to Microsoft Teams, to enable access to lectures.
- Wait for the confirmation email
Within a few days, you will receive an email confirming your enrolment. Your student number will then be visible in your Reserved Area on Esse3.
Within two working days of receiving confirmation of your enrolment, you will have full access to the University's digital services (including your institutional email account and the MyUniTS app).
