Syllabus

D1, Knowledge of the basic principles of design in physics and choice of the goals. Knowledge of at least one method for the realization of the project and for the test of the system obtained. Knowledge of how to learn from the errors and improve the design and the building. D2, Ability of translating the physics learned in a working system. D3 Ability of identifying errors and learning from them. Ability of team work. D4, ability of communicating problems, work progress, results obtained. D5, ability of learning from mistakes.

knowledge of classical physics (mechanics, electromagnetism, optics...)

basic elements of design, build and test of a system using physics. Set out the objectives, information acquisition, evaluation of the possible methods, choice of the method, redefinition of goals, acquisition of instruments and materials, production, test, possibly redesign and new production. Test of the system and analysis of the results. The objective and methods will be chosen by groups of students mainly.

introductory lessons, laboratory practice by groups of students, guided choice of systems and methods, preparation of written or video reports on the work progress and the final results.

1) It is a lab: you have to act 2) you have to err to learn 3) you have to take into account many things at the same time 4) nothing is taken for granted

Written or video report on the work done, the obtained results, their analysis, the problems and the possible improvements. Oral examination on the physics at the base of the implemented system and on the physical analysis of the results.

4) high education 9) innovation
