Is part of:
KNOWLEDGE AND UNDERSTANDING: acquire knowledge regarding the respiratory system, its essential functions and the pathophysiology of respiratory diseases. Furthermore, acquire correct biomedical terminology.
ABILITY TO APPLY KNOWLEDGE AND UNDERSTANDING: be able to apply the acquired knowledge, as a solid basis for clinical activity.
MAKING JUDGMENTS: acquire an adequate capacity for critical elaboration of the morpho-functional and pathophysiological correlations of respiratory and pulmonary diseases in order to be able to act correctly in the clinical activity.
COMMUNICATION SKILLS: the acquisition of adequate biomedical terminology is essential for interfacing within the biomedical scientific community.
LEARNING SKILLS: the study of the physiopathology of respiratory and pulmonary diseases is mandatory to clinical reasoning in order to correctly frame pulmonary pathologies.
Knowledge of the anatomy and physiology of the respiratory system
Adequate knowledge of the basic anatomical-functional terminology of the respiratory system
-Pathophysiology of respiratory diseases. In particular COPD, asthma, pneumoconiosis, chronic bronchitis and pneumonia.
- Fundamentals of the main respiratory function tests, of the objective evaluation of the patient, of oxygen therapy and ventilotherapy.

WRITTEN EXAMINATION: “Written test consisting of 30 multiple choice questions and 1 open answer question. Duration of the test 1 hour. The final vote is expressed out of thirty according to the following criteria: 1 point for each correct open answer and 0 points if an incorrect or missing answer, 1 point for the open answer if the student proves to have acquired an excellent knowledge of the topic covered and to have answered exhaustively and with excellent language skills. A score lower than 1 is also foreseen for the multiple choice - up to 0.5 points if the answer is incomplete, only partially correct and the argument presented in a confused manner and with little or no language skills, 0 points if the student does not respond or does not demonstrate an acceptable knowledge of the contents. The student with a score of 31 will obtain the vote 30 cum laude”
This course explores topics closely related to one or more goals of the United Nations 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development (SDGs)
