TOLC-E or ENGLISH TOLC-E
To enrol in the course, applicants must verify their knowledge through the TOLC-E (Online Test by CISIA – Economics), a mandatory, non-selective test administered by the CISIA (Inter-University Consortium for Integrated Access Systems).
The test is valid regardless of the university where it is taken. Here are the dates for the TOLC-E and ENGLISH TOLC-E tests organised by the University of Trieste:
TOLC@CASA (online):
- 30/05/2024
- 11/07/2024
- 06/09/2024
In person:
- 27/09/2024
- 10/10/2024
Who must take the TOLC?
The TOLC is mandatory for all applicants submitting an enrolment application.
You are exempt if you possess one of the following certifications, which must be sent to the Admissions Office (deams.ammissioni@amm.units.it) for verification:
- SAT Certificate with a minimum score of 800/1600
- GMAT Certificate with a minimum score of 400/800
Structure of the TOLC
The test consists of 3 sections:
- Mathematics
- Logical Reasoning
- Reading Comprehension
If you wish to enrol in a curriculum taught in English, you must take the ENGLISH TOLC-E, which has the same sections but questions in English.
Validity of the test
TOLC-E and ENGLISH TOLC-E tests taken from January 1st of the year prior to the enrolment application until the enrolment deadline are considered valid.
Consequences of an insufficient score
If your score is below 9 points or if you fail to take the TOLC within the specified period, you will be assigned an Additional Education Requirement (OFA). These requirements are designed to help you address any gaps before starting your academic journey. To fulfil the OFA, you will have to pass the Matematica Generale exam (for Italian curricula) or the Mathematics exam (for the English curriculum) during the 1st year.
For further details and to book the test, visit the official CISIA website ➔
- Language proficiency for non-EU students
Non-EU students residing abroad who enrol in Italian-taught curricula must also pass an Italian language proficiency test. For more information, please visit the dedicated page.
