Non-competitive admission with initial proficiency assessment before enrolment

To enrol in this programme, you must possess:
- Bachelor's degree
- If you have a foreign degree, consult the information dedicated to International Students to verify the validity of your qualification and the specific admission requirements
- 12 CFU in one or more of the following subject areas (SSD):
- FIS
- GEO
- 18 CFU in one or more of the following subject areas (SSD):
- MAT
- FIS
- CHIM
- INF/01 e ING-INF/05 (up to 6 CFU)
- 60 CFU in one or more of the following subject areas (SSD):
- ING-INF/01,02,03,04, 05,07
- FIS/01,02,03,04,05,06,07
- MAT/01,02,03,04,05,06,07,08,09
- GEO/01,02,03,04,05,06,07,08,09,10,11,12
- ICAR/01,02,03,04,06,07,08,09
- ING-IND/06,11
A good knowledge of English at a B2 level is also required.

You can request an assessment of your preparation even if you are a graduating student and expect to obtain your degree by the specified dates in deadlines section.
There are two time slots for the assessment of your admission requirements and subsequent enrolment. The deadlines vary according to the date you obtained (or will obtain) your bachelor’s degree (or equivalent).
You can submit the enrolment application only after completing the requirement verification process and receiving a confirmation email.
Enrolment Deadlines for A.Y. 2025/2026
- Round 1 – For graduates by 14 November 2025:
- Submission of evaluation request: from 9 June to 14 November 2025 (non-negotiable deadline)
- Enrolment*: by 19 December 2025
- Round 2 – Only for graduates between 15 November 2025 and 27 March 2026:
- Submission of evaluation request: from 7 January to 27 February 2026 (non-negotiable deadline)
- Enrolment: by 30 March 2026
*If you miss the first enrolment deadline of 19 December 2025, you may still enrol by 30 March 2025. However, a late enrolment fee will apply as outlined in the Fees Notice.
Assessment
For admission to the course, a committee of three members from the Board of Studies will verify that you meet the curricular requirements based on your academic record and an admission interview.
The purpose of the interview is to:
- Examine your academic record (examinations taken, number of credits, grades, content) to confirm or update the assessment of the credits recognised as valid for admission to the course.
- Assess your dissertation and/or other experiences (internships, training courses, and more).
- Evaluate your skills and academic preparation.
- Propose a Study Plan for the Master's Degree.
- Answer any questions regarding the study path and career prospects.
At the end of the interview, the committee members will decide on your admission, non-admission, or conditional admission based on a specific Study Plan.
Language skills
Your knowledge of English at the required level will be verified through your academic record and/or a language certification.
During the online procedure, please upload:
- a self-certification issued by your University (if other than UniTS) explicitly stating the level obtained, if acquired during your Bachelor's degree
- one of the certificates listed by AICLU
If you do not have certified knowledge of the required level, you may acquire the necessary skills after enrolment through the University Language Centre (CLA).
Procedure
- Register for the assessment:
Access the Online Student Service (Esse3) and follow this path: Menu > Home > Admission Test (programmed access and master’s degrees)- Select the Test (Competition) for this programme and upload the following completed documents in the Attachments section:
- A valid ID document (front and back)
- A self-declaration of your qualification, including completed exams (not a certificate)
- The self-assessment questionnaire in Excel format, available at the bottom of this page
- Language certification, if required by the course
- Select the Test (Competition) for this programme and upload the following completed documents in the Attachments section:
- Verification of Preparation: follow the methods described in the dedicated section
- Wait for the verification result: you will receive the result by email. If you are admitted, proceed as outlined in the Online Procedure (Esse3) section.
Enrolment
Within deadlines
Access the Online Student Service (Esse3)
- Start the procedure for enrolment applications
Menu > Home > Enrolment
- Complete the required fields and upload the necessary documents:
- Valid identity document in PDF format (front and back)
If you log in using SPID, this will not be required - Supplementary enrolment form (at the bottom of this page)
- Passport-sized photo in JPEG format, NO SELFIES (refer to the requirements)
- Residence permit or proof of application (for non-EU citizens only)
- Valid identity document in PDF format (front and back)
- Pay the first instalment of university fees. This confirms your pre-enrolment.
Within 2 working days of payment, the university's digital services will be activated, limited to Microsoft Teams, to enable access to lectures.
- Wait for the confirmation email
Within a few days, you will receive an email confirming your enrolment. Your student number will then be visible in your Reserved Area on Esse3.
Within two working days of receiving confirmation of your enrolment, you will have full access to the University's digital services (including your institutional email account and the MyUniTS app).
- If you have yet to obtain the required qualification
If you have not yet obtained the qualification required for admission:
- start anyway the Enrolment Process
- submit additional documentation: include a self-declaration listing completed and pending exams and your curriculum studiorum, if applicable.
- pay the first instalment of tuition fees:
This will allow you to attend lectures and access Digital Teaching resources. Upon obtaining your degree, you must re-enter the online procedure, enter the missing details and promptly inform the relevant section of the Admissions Office via email.
Your enrolment will be finalised, and you will receive your matriculation number only after providing all required documentation.
