Knowledge and understanding:
At the end of the course, the student will have to demonstrate knowledge of early-stage factors and progression of peri-implant disease and methods of disease prevention and therapy.
The student will have to demonstrate the general principles of the diagnosis of peri-implant disease and the clinical signs of disease recognition. It will also have to demonstrate the significance of screening tests to evaluate the state of health of periimplantary tissues.
The student must demonstrate knowledge of oral microbiology and the processes of formation of bacterial plaque around dental implants.
The student will have to demonstrate in general terms the initial therapeutic approach to the patient suffering from implant pathologies, more specifically the non-surgical peri-implant therapy.
Ability to apply knowledge and understanding
At the end of the course, the student must be able to recognize and interpret the initial clinical signs of the disease and set up a proper treatment plan.
Judgment autonomy
At the end of the course, the student should be able to analyze and reconstruct different and possibly
interpretative and therapeutic options regarding the diagnosis and therapeutic setting of peri-implant diseases
Communicative Skills
At the end of the course, the student will have to demonstrate that he is able to expose the notions and to acquire the appropriate scientific language in order to transmit and be able to work in teams.
Learning ability
At the end of the course, the student must demonstrate to be able to independently evaluate the clinical signs of the disease and the presence of modifiable and non risk factors.
Knowledge of dental and implant anatomy
Knowledge of periodontology
Knowledge about implant treatment indications, implant methods, implant prostheses, early and late implant complications
