Is part of:
-Knowledge and understanding: The student will show the mastery of the knowledge regarding the periodontal non surgical treatment. The student will moreover understand the techniques and the therapeutic tools described during the lectures.
-Applying knowledge and understanding: The student will prove to have developed knowledge, tools and his critical and analytical skill regarding the use of the different therapeutic non surgical periodontal options
-Making judgements: The student will show the ability to use the acquired knowledge.
He will be able to identify the connections among different therapies and tools and to summarize information regarding different tools or techniques
-Communication skills: At the end of the course, the student will show the ability to express the concepts described during the lectures, using the correct terminology
-Learning skills: At the end of the course, the student will show the capability to find and independently manage variations and updates regarding the subjects of the course
To adequately follow the subjects of the course, the student must know the basic periodontal procedures.
Non-surgical periodontal therapy case reports.

-practical activity on mannequin
-dentin hypersensitivity

-recognize and use of manual periodontal instruments
- recognize and use of inserts of mechanical periodontal instruments
Lectures.
The test will occur through an oral exam, at the end of the class.
The capability to develop the periodontal treatment plan will be verified through general questions about basic periodontology and periodontal histology.
The student will prove his capability to recognize the different periodontal components and to describe their morphological and histological features and therefor evaluate the periodontal path of the patient using the diagnostic instruments obtained during the dental visit.
Two oral exams per session are planned.
