Syllabus

D1-Knowledge and understanding skills.
Know and understand the influence of attitudes and behaviors on caring relationships and interprofessional relationships.
D2-Ability to apply knowledge and understanding.
Know how to observe, choose and modulate styles of interaction and intervention within the professional specification; develop awareness of one's own style of interaction with both the patient and other professionals.
D3- Autonomy of judgment
Know how to identify the appropriateness of one's interaction style with respect to the patient's condition and intervention goals and with respect to one's role.
D4-Communication skills
Know how to communicate with the patient, family members and care givers at different stages of caregiving in order to build a therapeutic alliance and share a therapeutic plan.
D5-Learning skills
To know how to critically and adaptively question one's own feelings, values and prejudices about the care relationship with the patient and family members/care givers.

Definition of counseling. Speech counseling. The first reception: what tools? The logopedic interview.
Prevention definition, speech screening, prevention projects.
Parent-mediated early intervention.

Definition of counseling, theoretical presentation (Rogers, Mucchielli). Counseling in speech therapy, interactive modalities with the person and family members. Tools in the reception phase comparison of conversation, questionnaire, interview. The speech therapy interview as a specific professional act present at the different stages of intake, what interactive modalities characterize it?
Primary, secondary and tertiary prevention in speech therapy. Speech therapy screening and prevention projects in Italy. Early intervention in developmental age with late speaking children (Interact, Hanen program, dialogic reading).

Lecture, role play, small group work.



Group work: prevention activity design, interview mode, care giver counseling.
