Addictional Education Requirements (OFA)

An Additional Learning Requirement (OFA) is a pathway assigned to you if, during an entrance test or initial assessment, you do not achieve the minimum score required in a specific subject area or fail to meet certain prerequisites for your study programme. Its purpose is to help you address any gaps and better prepare for your academic journey.

If you have not completed your Additional Educational Requirements (OFA) within the first year of your degree course, you can temporarily enrol in the second year, but you will only be able to take your second-year exams if you have completed your OFA within the set deadline.

If you do not pass the OFA within the set deadline, you will be enrolled as a first-year student in a supplementary year. This means that you will not be able to attend any second-year courses and therefore you will not be allowed to sit any second-year exams.

A Further Learning Requirement (OFA - Obbligo Formativo Aggiuntivo) is a programme assigned to you if, during an entrance test or an initial assessment, you do not achieve the minimum required score or if you do not meet certain requirements set by your degree course. It is designed to help you bridge any knowledge gaps and better prepare for your university studies.

If you do not fulfil the Further Learning Requirement within the first year of your course, you will still be able to enrol in the second year, but you will not be allowed to take the corresponding exams until it is fulfilled.

Students who obtain a score equal to or lower than 25% of the maximum achievable score in the subjects of Biology, Physics, and Mathematics will be enrolled with a Further Learning Requirement obligation.

You will need to fulfil the OFA through personalised remedial plans designed under the supervision of the course lecturer and/or by attending specific remedial courses, including online options, at the discretion of the degree course.

The OFA is considered automatically fulfilled upon passing the first-year integrated course examination, which includes the module(s) subject to assessment. If you do not complete the OFA, you will be registered as a student "fuori corso" (beyond the standard duration of the course) in the following academic year.
