The general educational objective of the course is to provide knowledge useful for defining the professional reference framework through the understanding of the nursing role, its historical evolution, the specific field of activity, the interprofessional relationships and the theories to which the discipline refers.
At the end of the course, in accordance with the Dublin Descriptors, in order to pass the exam, the student must demonstrate that:
KNOWLEDGE AND UNDERSTANDING
- know the organization of the National and Regional Health Service and its evolution
- know the regulatory history of the development of the nursing discipline and profession in Italy
- know the role of the Order of Health Professions and its national and local internal bodies
- know the ethical and deontological principles of the Profession
- describe the profile of the support operators and their contribution in the implementation of the assistance plan
APPLYING KNOWLEDGE AND UNDERSTANDING
- implement the nursing process in awareness of the role and responsibility, also ethical and deontological, of the Nursing Profession
- analyze the concept of assistance and nursing care considering the contribution of support operators in taking charge of assisted persons
MAKING JUDGEMENTS
- identify the areas of one's professional responsibilities, one's autonomy, one's role within a multi-professional team
COMMUNICATION SKILLS
- use appropriate communication skills with care recipients of all ages and their families within the care process and/or with other healthcare professionals in an appropriate verbal, non-verbal and/or written manner
- develop a communication method useful for supporting a helping relationship
LEARNING SKILLS
- develop independent study skills
- demonstrate the ability to cultivate doubts and tolerate the uncertainties deriving from study and practical activity by asking suitable and pertinent questions to resolve them
- demonstrate the ability to continuously seek out self-learning opportunities
- demonstrate the ability to self-assess one's own skills and outline one's own development and learning needs
There are no prerequisites and propaedeutics.
- National and Regional Health Service/System: definition, evolution, organization.
- Legal aspects of the Nursing Profession: evolution, exercise, development/training, responsibility, professional secrecy and protection of data confidentiality, management of support personnel, ethics and professional deontology.

Frontal lessons with the use of multimedia audio-visual tools, with extensive interaction between students and teacher.
- Teaching materials: the teaching materials, which the student will have to consult, will be uploaded to the Microsoft Teams platform.
- Attendance at the course: attendance at the Integrated Course is compulsory. Those who have attended at least 75% of the lessons of the Integrated Course are admitted to the exam.

The written test consists of 3 open-ended questions. Duration of the test max 40 minutes. The final grade is expressed out of thirty according to the following criteria: 10 points for each open answer if the student demonstrates that he/she has acquired an excellent knowledge of the topic covered and that he/she has answered exhaustively and with excellent language skills. A score of less than 10 is also foreseen for open answers - up to 1 point if the answer is incomplete, only partially correct and the argument presented in a confused manner and with little or no language skills, 0 points if student does not respond or does not demonstrate an acceptable knowledge of the contents.
This teaching explores topics closely related to one or more objectives of the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development of the United Nations.
