Tutoring

The Department offers a support service specifically for students facing difficulties in their university life.

Who are the tutors?

Tutors are students selected among the top performers from the economics, business, and mathematical-statistical degree courses. Their mission is to provide personalised support to:

  • Assist you with the selection of study plans
  • Provide information about class schedules and faculty office hours
  • Listen to students' requests and suggestions

The goal is to continuously improve the services offered by the University and the Department, meeting the needs of the student community as effectively as possible.

Types of tutor

1. General tutors

General tutors are students who help you find the information you need. They act as a bridge between students, faculty, and administrative staff. They work in collaboration with student representatives and faculty members, gathering feedback from students. Additionally, the tutors:

  • Facilitate connections between students, delegated faculty members, and departments dedicated to international mobility
  • Provide assistance to international students
  • Support the organisation of events and training on transversal skills promoted by the Department and the University
2. Wellbeing and liaison with the disability/DSA office tutor

Student wellbeing is a priority for the Department, which has established the role of the 2. Wellbeing and liaison with the disability/DSA office tutor. This tutor, usually a student with a background in psychology, offers a listening ear if:

  • You wish to speak to someone confidentially
  • You are facing challenges related to psychological wellbeing, university life, or study methods
  • You need support in preparing for the world of work

All meetings are confidential.

3. Academic tutors

Academic tutors provide support in studying and understanding specific exam subjects. They can be contacted to book an appointment, for example, to seek clarification on a mathematical proof, assistance during an exercise session, or guidance on exam materials.
