Your Study Plan does not include a compulsory internship. If you are still interested in undertaking a curricular internship, you can follow the instructions below which apply to informatics courses with a compulsory internship.
Note: Unlike other programmes where the internship is mandatory, the number of CFU that you will have to indicate in the Progetto Formativo is 0.
Description and purpose of the internship
The curricular internship is a temporary experience designed to facilitate your professional choices by providing direct contact with the working experiences related to the study programme.
There are different types of internships:
- If you are a student, you can undertake a curricular internship within the University or in another affiliated organisation. Curricular internships are managed by the Department
- If you are a graduate within 12 months of obtaining your degree, you can undertake an extracurricular internship to facilitate your entry into the job market. Extracurricular internships are managed by the Career Service office

- Where to carry out the internship
- Existing agreements: You can carry out the internship within the University or at affiliated organisations and companies which can be found at the bottom of this page or in the Regulations and Documents section
- New agreements: If you wish to carry out your internship in a non-affiliated host organisation, you can request a new agreement
- If the host organisation wishes to sign an agreement with the single Department, fill out the Testo di convenzione per tirocini curriculari and the Accordo di contitolarità
- If the host organisation wishes to sign an agreement involving multiple Departments, contact the Career Service office (career.service@amm.units.it) and ask for the forms and procedures
- What to do BEFORE starting the internship
Documents to be filled out and sent to the didattica.dmg@units.it:
- Testo di convenzione per tirocini curriculari e Accordo di contitolarità, for new agreements wth the Department only
- Progetto Formativo, signed by the student, the host organisation’s tutor and the university tutor* and the scheda ente ospitante
- Scheda Rischi, filled out and signed by the company’s employer or the delegate responsible for Health and Safety, and by the university tutor
*If you carry out your internship in a research laboratory at the University, ICTP or SISSA, you can identify one tutor only (usually the laboratory manager or a lecturer).
