Tutoring

Three different types of tutors are defined:

  • Advisor

The year tutor you can turn to for advice and guidance regarding your academic career. The tutor assigned to you remains the same for the entire duration of your studies or part of it. All teaching staff in the degree course are required to be available to carry out the role of tutor.

  • Lecturer-Tutor

The Lecturer-Tutor is assigned to a small group of students for the tutorial teaching activities specified in the Teaching Programme Document, where applicable.
Lecturer-Tutors are required to coordinate their functions with the teaching activities of the courses that share the same educational objectives. They may also contribute to the preparation of materials to be used in tutorial teaching.

  • Non-lecturing Tutor

An experienced collaborator with a suitable professional background, registered with the Register of Dentists of the Order of Physicians and Dentists. This role may be internal or external to the University and, subject to approval by the Department Board, supports but does not replace Lecturers in tutorial teaching activities. Their contribution is provided on a voluntary basis.
