Is part of:
KNOWLEDGE AND UNDERSTANDING: Gain knowledge of the basic theory of plastic and reconstructive surgery. Furthermore, acquire adequate biomedical terminology. ABILITY TO APPLY KNOWLEDGE AND UNDERSTANDING: being able to apply the acquired knowledge, as a solid foundation for understanding the basic techniques of plastic and reconstructive surgery. MAKING JUDGMENTS: acquire an adequate capacity for critical elaboration to discriminate the various pathologies inherent in plastic and reconstructive surgery. COMMUNICATION SKILLS: the acquisition of adequate biomedical terminology is essential for interfacing within the biomedical scientific community between colleagues and patients. LEARNING SKILLS: the study of Plastic Surgery is essential for the study of related disciplines (in particular, General Surgery, Orthopedics, Dermatology).
To attend the course successfully, the student must possess basic knowledge of histology, anatomy, physiology and integrated pathology, pathological anatomy and pharmacology.

The assessment of the achievement of the course objectives involves an oral examination. During the examination, questions concerning the course content are asked in order to verify understanding and application in clinical practice. The oral examination of the plastic and reconstructive surgery module will be graded in thirtieths (30) and will be averaged with the marks of the other modules of the relevant integrated course. Excellent (30 -30 cum laude): excellent knowledge of the theory of the basic and more specialised techniques of plastic and reconstructive surgery, excellent command of language, excellent analytical ability; the student is able to apply theoretical knowledge brilliantly to clinical cases relevant to plastic and reconstructive surgery. Very good (27 -29): good knowledge of the theory of the basic and more specialised techniques of plastic and reconstructive surgery, excellent language skills, good analytical ability; the student is able to apply the theoretical knowledge correctly to clinical cases relevant to plastic and reconstructive surgery. Good (24-26): good knowledge of the main topics, fair language property; the student shows an adequate ability to apply theoretical knowledge to clinical cases relevant to plastic and reconstructive surgery. Satisfactory (21-23): the student does not show full mastery of plastic and reconstructive surgery topics either basic or specialised, although he/she possesses the fundamental knowledge; however, he/she shows satisfactory language property and sufficient ability to apply theoretical knowledge to clinical cases relevant to plastic and reconstructive surgery. Sufficient (18-20): minimal knowledge of basic plastic and reconstructive surgery topics and technical language, limited ability to adequately apply theoretical knowledge to clinical cases relevant to plastic and reconstructive surgery. Insufficient (<18): the student does not possess an acceptable knowledge of the content of the different topics of the plastic and reconstructive surgery syllabus.
This course explores topics closely related to one or more goals of the United Nations 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development (SDGs)
