Syllabus

KNOWLEDGE AND UNDERSTANDING: for all the teaching modules the knowledge necessary for understanding the subject will be imparted and the students' real understanding of what is transmitted to them will be ascertained. ABILITY TO APPLY KNOWLEDGE AND UNDERSTANDING: we will check if students are able to argue on the proposed topics. AUTONOMY OF JUDGMENT: students must be able to collect and interpret clinically relevant data. COMMUNICATION SKILLS: students must be able to communicate information, ideas and solutions to clinical problems. ABILITY TO LEARN: students must demonstrate a sufficient degree of autonomy to undertake subsequent studies in a self-managed way. At the end of the course the student must be able to possess: 1. Knowledge of the basic biological principles of periodontal disease and healing processes. 2. Knowledge of periodontal pathology, of the relationship between periodontal disease and systemic diseases. 3. Knowledge of the epidemiology of periodontal disease and the role of Periodontology 4. Knowledge of non-surgical periodontal therapy methods. 5. Clinical expertise for periodontal disease diagnosis and classification
