Conoscere gli ambienti e l'operatività dei servizi di prevenzione degli infortuni e delle malattie professionali. Comprendere l'area di competenza e le modalità d'intervento dei servizi.
To face the internship period it is necessary to have attended and passed the general chemistry and applied physics exams.
The 1st year internship has as its focus the protection of health in the workplace. The internship locations are identified at the Health Authorities of the Region. Specifically, the residential internship takes place at the Prevention Departments of the Health Authorities - Prevention and Safety Service in the Workplace (PSAL) and in the Company Prevention and Protection Services.
The activity aims to introduce the student to the Risk Analysis method used as a system for assessing and managing the risks to which workers are exposed. The student focuses on the institutional tasks of the Prevention Services and specifically on the assessment and management of the risks affecting the health and safety of the workers of the companies subject to assistance and control.
Particular attention is paid to measurement techniques and instrumental detection of exposure to environmental-structural-plant risks (falls from a height, electrocution, mechanized handling and use of machine tools), physical risks (noise, vibrations, microclimate, electromagnetic fields, ROA, biomechanical overload, repeated hand-arm movements) and chemical ones (dangerous agents, carcinogens, asbestos).
A lot of space is dedicated to inspections in the factory and on site, for direct knowledge of the production processes, the associated risks and the containment measures that can actually be implemented
Handout for internship activities prepared by the didactic tutors
The activities refer to the experiential learning cycle model (Kolb, 1984). In particular, the activities are conducted according to the integrated internship model proposed by White and Ewan for the nursing profession (1994). The student is exposed to concrete situations and problems and is led, by the internship guides, to a reflection activity on the case in question (case method). In some areas, the briefing-debriefing cycle is used.
