An Additional Learning Requirement (OFA) is a pathway assigned to you if, during an entrance test or initial assessment, you do not achieve the minimum score required in a specific subject area or fail to meet certain prerequisites for your study programme. Its purpose is to help you address any gaps and better prepare for your academic journey.

If you do not fulfil the OFA by the end of the first year, you will still be allowed to enrol in the second year, but you will not be permitted to take the corresponding exams until the requirements are met.

How to fulfil the OFA requirement

Students who obtain a score equal to or lower than 25% of the maximum possible score in Biology and Chemistry will be enrolled with an Additional Learning Requirement (OFA).

You can fulfil the OFA requirement through personalised remedial plans designed under the supervision of a lecturer and/or by attending specific remedial courses, which may also be available online, depending on the course.

The OFA requirement is automatically fulfilled by passing the first-year integrated course examination, which includes the assessed module(s). If you do not fulfil the OFA requirement, you will be enrolled as an out-of-course student in the following academic year.
